Top SchoolMichael Scherer is a CTO and autonomy expert with over a decade of hands-on experience designing, building, and scaling uncrewed surface vessels and autonomy architectures deployed across 100+ USVs. He has led keel-to-deck engineering programs, overseen P&L and EVMS-driven government contracts, and guided a startup through acquisition by a global public company. Technically grounded in motion planning, controls, remote command-and-control, and system architecture, he also has deep field-testing and customer-facing program management experience. Michael blends startup agility with large-program rigor, having taken novel vessel designs from concept through NAVSEA-reviewed milestones. Based in Lafayette, LA, he pairs advanced academic training (MS CS, Georgia Tech) with practical autonomy engineering and a niche focus on maritime robotic boats.
