Top SchoolMichael Thorsager is a Senior Staff Backend Engineer with 13 years of hands-on experience building and operating scalable, high-availability network and provisioning platforms across ISP and service-provider environments. He specializes in backend systems on Linux/Unix, is fluent in Java, Perl, PHP and SQL, and has led architecture and migration efforts from monoliths to microservices on Kubernetes/OpenShift using Quarkus and Spring Boot. His recent work includes designing layer-3 provisioning services integrating RADIUS/DHCP and network elements, and he has a strong operational background from founding and running infrastructure for DOCSIS/HFC networks. Comfortable across many languages (C/C++, Go, Python, JavaScript) and with legacy systems (RPG/IV), he blends deep systems knowledge with pragmatic engineering and process optimization. Based in North Denmark, he pairs developer leadership with the practical instincts of a former sysadmin—often surfacing low-level networking insights that improve platform reliability.
