Summary
👤
SeniorMichael Timony is a versatile web developer and technical leader based in Boston with 10 years’ experience building and operating full-stack applications, scientific workflows, and HPC tooling. He blends Java/J2EE and Python/Django expertise with deep Linux/Unix DevOps skills—having driven corporate RHEL rollouts, LDAP/AD integrations, virtualization and cloud deployments, and a web-based cluster job submission app that powered millions of OSG CPU hours. Comfortable leading teams through transformations from SysAdmin to DevOps, he also partners with structural biologists to design reproducible research pipelines and GPU-accelerated workloads. Equally at home in Rails, Java, and C, Michael is pragmatic about tooling (Nagios, Splunk, Zabbix, Slurm, VMWare/OVirt) and known for making complex infrastructure approachable—he even enjoys the people side of engineering.
