Top SchoolMichael Van Der Horst is a Senior Software Engineer based in Amsterdam with 11 years of hands-on experience building mobile and web applications across C#, Java, PHP and C/C++. He has led cross-platform mobile development (Android and Xamarin) implementing SIP, camera, TCP and JSON/XML messaging, and now aims to grow into a mobile technical lead with longer-term ambitions to manage large IT projects or start an IT-focused company. Comfortable across Windows, macOS, Linux and mobile OSes, he pairs practical backend skills (MySQL, MS SQL, XML/XSD) with Scrum-driven delivery and experience in other formal methodologies like Prince2 and ITIL. His career shows continuity at CLB where he progressed from developer to senior engineer, and a penchant for building useful tooling—evident from creating CMS and team management systems for local organizations—suggesting he balances product sense with robust engineering.
