Top SchoolMichael Wolf is a software engineer and entrepreneur with 11 years of experience building scalable AI and mixed-reality systems, currently co-founding and leading First Languages AI Reality at Mila to reverse Indigenous language loss using enterprise-scale machine learning. A Northern Cheyenne and Lakota technologist raised in rural Montana, he blends industry experience from Amazon Alexa and academic roles at Northeastern and Mila with a Master’s in Computer Science to set a high technical and ethical bar for community-driven AI. He has architected production ML and hybrid deployments, led engineering teams at startups and enterprise orgs, and taught courses spanning databases, mixed reality, and software engineering. His work has earned fellowships and awards—including MIT Solve and the Alfred P. Sloan Fellowship—and often centers on respectful integration of traditional knowledge with immersive tech, a perspective shaped by both his upbringing and hands-on preservation projects dating back to community apps for the Northern Cheyenne Nation.
