Senior🎓
Top SchoolMichael Zemel is a Senior System Engineer with 12 years of experience designing scalable, highly available systems and leading cross-functional teams. He excels at turning ambiguous problems into clear roadmaps, defining domains and KPIs, and driving multi-year projects from architecture through execution. At Stitch Fix he led inventory and warehouse domain architecture, guiding major integrations, migrations, and both new and deprecating microservices; he now brings that systems-first mentality to Cloudflare. Known for empathetic leadership, he mentors project leads, aligns stakeholders, and fosters knowledge-sharing to boost morale and delivery. His background blends deep engineering (Ruby, Elixir, microservices) with a neuroscience/biology academic foundation, giving him a pragmatic, analytical approach to complex systems. Notably, he pairs hands-on system design and diagramming with a talent for turning strategic goals into measurable KRs.
