Top SchoolMichael Zhao is a product-focused technologist and operator with seven years of experience building consumer and enterprise software, currently serving as Board Member at Vimcal after co-founding and scaling it as CTO. He led product and engineering to a 4.8-star iOS app, raised $7.5M from top investors, and shipped a second product tailored for Executive Assistants that saves users significant scheduling time. Prior roles at Microsoft and Kabam blend conversational AI, partnerships, and game-economy growth experience, giving him a rare mix of consumer product intuition and monetization expertise. He’s an active angel investor and venture partner who backs early startups across AI, health, and developer tooling, and has participated in notable exits and Series B investments. Based in New York with a CS background from UC Berkeley and YC founder experience, he combines startup hustle with enterprise product discipline. Outside work he still codes as a hobby, bringing hands-on engineering credibility to his board and investment roles.
