Senior🎓
Top SchoolMichel Carroll is a Staff Software Developer based in Montreal with 13 years of experience building cloud-native, mission-critical systems for startups and scaleups. He specializes in integrating distributed platforms, designing secure AWS infrastructure (HIPAA-aware), and leading pragmatic implementations of language-model driven applications and retrieval-augmented generation. A hands-on architect and early hire for multiple teams, he has driven product-to-production work from prototype to regular clinical use, navigated complex EHR integrations, and established CI/CD and automation with Terraform/Ansible and GitHub Actions. His background spans big-data pipelines (Scala, Kafka, Spark), microservices on Kubernetes, and full-stack work from React UIs to Python/FastAPI backends. Known as a pragmatist, he pairs deep technical breadth with product sensibility—choosing practical solutions over academic purity to deliver measurable value. Outside core roles he’s repeatedly shaped hiring, engineering culture, and early technical strategy for incubations and MVPs.
