Top SchoolMichelle Lee is a Senior Software Engineer in Seattle with 11 years of experience building backend systems and distributed services, currently working on Time Series within ServiceNow’s Distributed Systems group. She specializes in Go microservices, Kubernetes operators, and cloud storage/compute optimizations, having delivered zero-downtime migrations and cost-saving automation that cut infrastructure and storage spend by over $2M/year. Michelle has driven reliability and scaling for telemetry and observability products—designing autoscaling and idempotent disk-downsizing features for a span timeseries database and leading a periodic query platform redesign that underpins billing and alerting workflows. She’s comfortable across product, platform, and on-call responsibilities, coaching engineers on incident response while shipping customer-facing features under tight deadlines. Early roles at Wattpad and UBC reflect a blend of web, data, and research experience, giving her a pragmatic, data-informed approach to system design. Notably, she pairs deep backend expertise with an eye for operational cost efficiency, turning architectural changes into measurable business impact.
