Top SchoolMichelle Scharlock is a seasoned technical writer-programmer with nine years of experience translating complex developer and security topics into clear, actionable documentation for enterprise audiences, currently contracting with Microsoft. She blends hands-on engineering familiarity (JavaScript, Markdown, XML, GitHub) with content strategy—creating large-scale content refresh plans, restructuring documentation sets, and running editorial calendars that drive adoption and support. Her background spans product-facing developer docs, in-product text, technical marketing, and accessibility work, and she has driven measurable gains in traffic, engagement, and usability. Outside of docs she runs a small art business creating dog caricatures and sings opera, bringing a creative, user-focused sensibility to technical communication. Notably, she has led DEI and community initiatives at Microsoft and won awards for customer research excellence, reflecting an ability to pair empathy with data-driven documentation decisions.
