Top SchoolMiguel Avelino is a software development engineer with 11 years of experience bridging academic research and production software, currently at Amazon and about to complete a Ph.D. in concurrent and distributed computing at UNAM. He builds full-stack solutions—from React front-ends to parallel data-processing systems in Clojure, Python, Java and C++—and has implemented administrative platforms for academic institutions. His doctoral work demonstrates practical relaxed concurrent data structures that avoid expensive synchronization by relying on reads and writes, a result with direct implications for high-performance concurrent systems. A former lecturer and technical lead at UNAM and Conabio, he blends deep theoretical grounding with hands-on delivery in both research and product contexts. An interesting personal note: despite a concise GitHub bio ("Tu sabes quien soy"), his contributions reveal a quietly multidisciplinary engineer comfortable across paradigms from functional programming to systems-level concurrency.
