Top SchoolMihai Buzgau is a seasoned engineering leader with 14 years of experience building and scaling cloud-native and DevOps-focused teams, currently serving as Director of Engineering at Snyk. He has led engineering organizations and site operations at Puppet and Aserto, bringing hands-on experience from senior management to office site leadership. Mihai pairs strategic leadership with deep backend and DevOps expertise, evidenced by sustained open-source contributions to high-profile projects like Puppet, Facter and Cloud Foundry BOSH where he improved performance, packaging, and cross-platform support. He is comfortable shipping pragmatic low-level improvements—memory-efficient file handling, OS-specific packaging fixes, and Windows Docker support—that materially improve reliability and maintainability. Based in Romania with a Computer Science degree from Aurel Vlaicu, Mihai blends global product experience with a practical engineering mindset that favors incremental, testable changes. Colleagues would note his knack for turning maintenance-heavy codebases into more efficient, cross-platform tools while scaling teams and processes.
