Top SchoolMike Basinger is a seasoned engineering manager and principal multi-disciplined engineer with over a decade of experience designing and operating enterprise IT and storage solutions. Currently leading engineering efforts at Collins Aerospace, he brings deep hands-on expertise in SAN, Linux systems administration, virtualization (VMware), and full-stack scripting with PHP and Ruby from years managing university and research data centers. He has a strong track record of migrating and modernizing infrastructure—designing SAN-backed VMware clusters, running Active Directory and campus-wide services, and managing cross-departmental IT initiatives. Based in Utah, Mike blends pragmatic leadership with practitioner instincts (self-described Linux aficionado and 80s music fan), moving fluidly between people management and low-level systems work. His background in communication and long tenure in both academic and aerospace environments gives him a knack for translating complex technical tradeoffs into clear operational plans.
