Top SchoolMike Bernard is an avionics software test engineer with eight years of experience designing, automating, and validating flight software and hardware for crewed and uncrewed spacecraft. Based in Los Angeles, he currently leads environmental testing for avionics on Falcon, Starship, and Dragon at SpaceX, and previously developed navigation and simulation software at NASA that is approved to fly on Artemis missions. He combines rigorous software practices—100% unit-test coverage and end-to-end integration tests—with hands-on hardware test ownership, bridging C++ flight code and Python test frameworks. Mike’s career shows a recurring focus on survivability and human safety in space, from mission-abort simulators to star-tracker navigation, and he brings both aerospace systems knowledge and practical automation skills to complex test programs.
