Top SchoolMike Gilroy is an experienced iOS engineer and founder with 11 years building and shipping consumer apps, currently designing and developing products at Shipyard Studios. He has strong hands-on expertise in Swift and a track record of independently taking apps from concept to App Store featuring—most notably DogCam (App of the Day in 140+ countries) and earlier expense-tracking apps highlighted by Apple. His background includes platform-level work at Apple on the App Store across iOS, watchOS, macOS, tvOS and visionOS, plus senior roles at fast-moving consumer tech companies like Hopper, Airtasker and Deliveroo. Mike blends product design sensibility with deep implementation skills, often leading small teams or working solo to deliver polished UX and robust code. Based in Stony Stratford, he pairs an economics degree with immersive iOS training, giving him a pragmatic, user-focused approach to building sustainable apps. Not obvious from titles alone: he repeatedly launches niche, high-impact apps that attract editorial attention, demonstrating an instinct for simple ideas that scale internationally.
