Top SchoolMike Lyons is a multidisciplinary engineer and startup CTO with 13 years of experience building software, firmware, and hardware across product-led companies in the Bay Area. As Co-Founder and CTO of hi finance and former Head of Engineering at Verkada, he’s led fast-paced launches—most notably Verkada’s Intercom product—and built low-power, edge ML systems at Dor that processed millions of events from battery-powered sensors. He combines hands-on implementation (NodeJS, Python, React, TensorFlow, AWS) with systems architecture and algorithm design, repeatedly turning constrained hardware problems into scalable cloud solutions. A practical founder who blogs about technology at staycaffeinated.com, he brings entrepreneurial grit and a rare blend of full-stack and embedded domain expertise to product and team leadership.
