Senior🎓
Top SchoolMike Matsumoto is a Senior Software Engineer based in the Berlin area with 8 years of focused experience leading cross-team initiatives and architecting resilient, high-scale systems. He has driven complex migrations and operational improvements—most notably leading a zero-downtime migration of 1.2 billion shopping carts from Cassandra to DynamoDB and cutting operational effort by 90% ahead of Black Friday. Comfortable from design to production, he has architected department-wide solutions, built extensible fee and gamification engines, and split large monoliths into modular services. A committed mentor and interviewer, he has coached and onboarded engineers while promoting clean code, DDD, and event-driven practices through talks and workshops. Uncommonly, he combines hands-on coding with 24x7 operational ownership, making him effective in high-stakes, time-sensitive delivery.
