Top SchoolMike Moriarty is an IT transformation leader with 13 years of experience building and running mission-critical infrastructure and software teams for universities, international schools, startups and corporate environments. As Head of IT Transformation at the Cavendish Laboratory he built a cross-functional services organisation and delivered a 108-project digital infrastructure programme supporting 1,800 users, while retaining overall IT security responsibility. He combines hands-on software engineering (Python, Flask/Django, PostgreSQL, CI/CD, Ansible, AWS) with Agile delivery and product-minded service design, having also commercialised internal tools as hosted services across the University. His background founding three tech startups, trading automation and public-facing roles in teaching, radio and student representation gives him unusual strengths in stakeholder empathy, resilience and rapid decision-making. Mike holds an MBA and a BSc in Computing, and is currently implementing organisation-wide lean workflows using Jira Service Management to streamline cross-functional operations.
