Top SchoolMike Skalandunas is a Principal Software Engineer and platform architect with 11 years of experience designing high-leverage web platforms and micro frontend architectures, now shaping developer-facing systems at Yext from Seattle. He has repeatedly led large-scale decompositions of monolithic UIs into microfrontends, cutting deploy times and bundle sizes dramatically while improving operability and developer velocity. Comfortable across the stack, Mike combines TypeScript/React front-end expertise with AWS serverless and infra-as-code practices, and has shepherded org-wide shifts like TypeScript adoption and standardized UI patterns. His work includes a notable open-source contribution to MDN’s web-components examples, demonstrating practical UI component craftsmanship. Unusually for a senior engineer, he also brings a creative background in music and game audio, which informs a user-centered, iterative approach to interaction and experience design.
