Senior🎓
Top SchoolMike Staszel is a senior engineering manager with 11 years of experience leading teams that build machine learning and data pipelines for the adtech and audience measurement space. He has moved large Spark-based, on-prem ML systems to cloud architectures, reducing cost and increasing throughput while managing 75+ ingestion and enrichment pipelines. Comfortable as both a hands-on engineer and a people leader, he blends Python-heavy data engineering with production practices like automated testing and Kubernetes deployment. His background spans startups to enterprise (SimpleRelevance, Rise Interactive, Nielsen, iSpot.tv, and now Capital One), giving him deep experience in attribution, personalization, lift analysis, and scalable ETL. Based in Chicago, he pairs a Georgia Tech MS and UIUC BS with a long history of low-level systems work (including building an ARM Linux distribution), an unusual combination that helps him bridge infrastructure, data, and product needs.
