Senior🎓
Top SchoolMing Xie is a seasoned software engineer with 10 years of recent industry experience and a long career spanning systems, cloud, and ML-focused roles. Currently at Extreme Networks, he previously spent nearly a decade at Amazon building GeoTech, advertising, and computer vision services that applied big data (PySpark, Sedona, Spark) and a range of ML techniques from KDE and HMMs to deep learning. His background includes foundational platform work at Expedia and Microsoft and early experience in real-time Unix transaction systems, giving him strong distributed-systems and infrastructure instincts. With advanced academic training toward a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Ottawa and a B.Eng. from Zhejiang University, he blends rigorous research thinking with production-grade engineering. Colleagues would note his curiosity—summed up on GitHub as “Looking, hearing, feeling, thinking, learning”—and a knack for turning complex spatial and large-scale data problems into reliable, scalable services.
