Top SchoolMohammad Kianifar is a Senior Machine Learning Software Engineer based in Kelowna with nine years of experience designing and shipping data-driven, high-throughput systems across finance and advertising. He blends ML research and production engineering—his graduate work produced graph-comparison algorithms that improved AST and semantic-change detection precision by large margins—while building robust backend services and observability at scale. At Wave he led Apple Pay integration, improved incident response by tuning Datadog, and created an automated schema diagram generator used across teams. Earlier roles at Tapsell and Hinza exposed him to high-load ad-serving, Kafka, Cassandra, Kubernetes, and OpenRTB, plus leadership in onboarding and documentation. He holds an MSc in Computer Science from the University of Calgary and a BSc in Software Engineering from the University of Tehran, and is comfortable moving ideas from academic prototypes to production systems. Outside work he’s a series and gaming enthusiast—an inclination that often fuels his focus on pragmatic, user-centered tooling.
