Summary
👤
SeniorMorteza Ahmadi is a software engineer based in Montreal with nine years of experience building mobile and payments-related systems, currently contributing at Shopify. He has deep iOS expertise (SwiftUI) and cross-platform mobile experience (Kotlin Multiplatform) from roles that spanned embedded hardware integration, high-throughput POS payment flows, and retail demo apps showcasing generative AI on wearables. Morteza combines product-minded engineering—shipping internal SDK surfaces, barcode scanners, and smoke-test suites—with measurable impact like reducing large legacy codebases and significantly improving test coverage. Comfortable leading cross-functional work, he has repeatedly delivered polished demos and production features for both consumer-facing apps and internal developer tooling. A curious second-year computer science student by title who nevertheless brings senior-level practical experience, he lives by a “make things, break things” ethos focused on learning through building.
