Top SchoolNacho Cougil is a Principal Software Engineer and Team Lead based in Barcelona with over two decades of hands-on Java/JVM experience, having risen from developer to CTO across energy, e-commerce, startups and consultancy. At Dynatrace he blends technical leadership with deep expertise in high-availability systems, test-driven development and eXtreme Programming practices, while continuing to contribute as a founder and organizer of Barcelona's Java community and conferences. Known as a Java Champion-style practitioner, he favors clean, readable code and relentlessly asks "how does it work and how can we improve it," which drives both architecture decisions and mentoring. He also teaches DevOps and Cloud topics, co-founded developer groups like DevBcn and BarcelonaJUG, and brings an uncommon mix of product, operational and forensic curiosity to solve complex production problems.
