Senior🎓
Top SchoolNaomi Maekawa is a senior software engineer with over 11 years of experience building resilient systems for education, media, and financial services out of Cambridge, MA. She combines hands-on development (Python, Flask, Java, SQLite, Redis, AWS) with devops and operations work—designing provisioning pipelines, RPM/Ansible/Jenkins deployments, and migrating services to AWS in compressed timelines. Naomi has owned services end-to-end: designing databases and APIs, shipping web UIs, planning backups, and executing disaster recovery for multi‑terabyte media systems that were restored in hours on two production incidents. She is passionate about distance education, having automated fleets of lecture-capture devices and presented her operational work at Opencast Summit. Known for learning quickly and stepping into required roles, she thrives at the intersection of software craftsmanship, operations, and customer-facing support.
