Top SchoolNate Young is a senior software engineer with 17 years of experience building and operating production systems, currently contracting at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis. He specializes in functional languages and has a track record of delivering resilient, maintainable services—from Clojure microservices and GraphQL APIs to large-scale Kafka/Cassandra platforms and mobile runtimes. At Walmart Global Tech he shipped customer-facing features and ran infrastructure powering millions of notifications per day, and earlier roles show deep ops experience stabilizing event pipelines and bespoke databases. Nate pairs rapid execution with clear communication and team orchestration, often stepping into ops, hiring, and mentoring to keep systems healthy as they grow. A practical polyglot, he’s comfortable across front-end mobile stacks, backend services, and custom language tooling, bringing uncommon breadth alongside a focus on long-term maintainability.
