Nathan Koch is a multidisciplinary interaction and product designer with 15 years of experience building mobile apps, websites, design systems, and generative media tools. Currently a Professional Lecturer and chair of DePaul’s UX undergraduate program, he blends hands-on prototyping (Figma, p5.js, HTML5) with curriculum design and studio practice in generative art and audiovisual performance. His background spans agency and enterprise roles—from leading front-end teams at Leo Burnett and Groupon to shaping chat product design and design systems at JPMorgan Chase—giving him fluency across design, code, and product strategy. Trained with an MFA from Parsons and time at the School for Poetic Computation, he’s comfortable shipping production UI components as well as experimental AR/VR and procedural content. Notably, he brings a maker’s instinct to teaching and product work, often coding prototypes that translate speculative concepts into tangible experiences. Based in Chicago, he is equally at home mentoring students, documenting design systems, and prototyping emergent interactive works.
