Nathan Oliveira
Summary
👤
SeniorNathan Oliveira is a pragmatic software engineer with 9 years of experience building resilient client and infrastructure systems, currently contributing to Shopify from Greater Boston. He has a strong background in mobile (React Native) and native iOS/Android features, AWS ECS deployment tooling, and SRE-focused support applications honed at Upserve and Lightspeed. Earlier work on Navy submarine systems and protocol-driven integrations gave him deep experience with C++, messaging (AMQP/QPID), Protocol Buffers, and rigorous engineering processes. Nathan bridges product-facing mobile work and backend deployment reliability, and he’s comfortable moving between prototype demos for high-assurance customers and production-grade cloud tooling. An offbeat detail: he’s happy to "talk to me about my Sunfish," hinting at a practical, hands-on mindset that extends beyond code.
