👤
SeniorNeil Millard is a Principal Platform Engineer and founder with over two decades of hands-on experience building resilient server and cloud platforms for UK financial institutions and enterprise customers. He combines deep infrastructure expertise—AWS, Azure, Terraform, Puppet, Ansible and databases like Vertica, MongoDB and MySQL—with a proven record of shrinking downtime through automated CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code. As the author of Who Moved My Servers and founder of Millard Technical Services and Confident Contractor, he mentors DevOps contractors and helps organisations optimise cloud performance and costs. His work includes high-profile projects such as a near-zero-downtime Blue-Yellow-Green Vertica upgrade for MoneySuperMarket and security-focused tooling for HMRC. Comfortable as both consultant and implementer, he blends practical engineering, teaching, and entrepreneurship to turn complex cloud migrations into measurable business outcomes. He’s also an active polyglot programmer interested in automation and public-facing education through books and a YouTube channel.
