Nelson Morais
Summary
👤
SeniorNelson Morais is a Senior Industrial IoT Architect based in Eindhoven with 12 years of experience designing cloud-native systems for manufacturing and retail at Philips and Signify. He combines deep Microsoft-stack and Azure expertise with hands-on cloud software architecture to transform factory operations and Interact Retail Cloud platforms into scalable, data-driven services. His background ranges from early-career embedded and media systems to leading cloud adoption and product ownership, giving him a rare end-to-end perspective on IoT solutions from device to cloud. Nelson has a strong academic foundation with a master's in computer engineering and prior teaching experience, which he leverages to mentor teams and promote reusable architectures. Known for bridging technical leadership and practical delivery, he often focuses on pragmatic cloud patterns and operational resilience rather than academic perfection. Outside the obvious title, he has repeatedly driven organizational cloud adoption and evangelized Azure-based innovations within cross-functional teams.
