Top SchoolNicholas Castro is a back-end developer with 11 years of professional experience, currently building server-side systems at Blend from his base in Frisco, Texas. He has strong experience modernizing stacks and shipping production services—having migrated frontends to React and backends to Spring Boot, implemented TDD suites (JUnit, Cypress, Jest), and helped design CI/CD pipelines at Meritize. Comfortable in paired-programming and XP environments, he excels at translating business needs into consumer- and enterprise-facing applications like loan and school portals and internal tooling that reduced operational costs. A former Java/Android freelancer who grew into the Node/React ecosystem, he also documents and demos his work on YouTube, reflecting a practical, teaching-oriented approach to engineering. Curious and reflective by nature—“the more I learn, the less I know”—he combines hands-on implementation with a continuous-learning mindset.
