Top SchoolNicholas Gottlieb is a web developer and consultant with 13 years of experience building Ruby on Rails applications and front-end solutions using Vue.js and React, often architecting deployments on AWS and Heroku. Based in Squamish, BC, he combines hands-on engineering with leadership experience as a team lead and long-term self-employed contractor. Beyond code, Nicholas is an adventure photographer and writer focused on systemic drivers of the ecological crisis—culture, legal and economic structures—and explores how design and policy can accelerate societal shifts toward sustainability. He holds an MA in Ecological Design Thinking from Schumacher College and a BA in Math and Biology from Dartmouth, a background that grounds his technical work in systems thinking. That interdisciplinary perspective lets him translate complex environmental ideas into practical, user-facing web products that communicate urgency and invite action.
