Top SchoolNicholas Johnson is a seasoned founder and engineer with 11 years of experience building hardware-software products that electrify transportation and urban infrastructure. He founded and led Orange Charger from prototype to nationwide EV charging platform, designing integrated hardware, manufacturing processes, and cloud software that now delivers millions of EV miles annually. Prior roles at Tesla and in embedded firmware at Particle reflect deep hands-on expertise in electrical engineering, thermal systems, and low-level firmware paired with product and manufacturing rigor. As a board member and Baukunst collective advisor, he blends strategic governance and fundraising experience with practical operational know-how to scale capital-efficient climate tech. He also co‑founded LYT, advancing ML-driven traffic management and transit signal priority—an uncommon intersection of mobility software and physical systems. Based in San Francisco, Nicholas combines relentless curiosity and tenacity with a track record of turning prototypes into production at city and grid scales.
