Top SchoolNicholas Kiraly is a Staff Software Engineer in Pittsburgh with two decades of experience building, integrating, and operating data services across telephony, emergency management, HPC storage, robotics, and AI domains. He specializes in developer experience, CI/CD, and cloud-native infrastructure—currently building integration and release automation at Aurora using Go, Python, Bazel, Buildkite, Kubernetes and AWS. Nicholas has a strong track record automating infrastructure and observability (Prometheus, Honeycomb, Chronosphere) and has led platform and SRE practices as an engineering director, translating operational rigor into developer-friendly tooling. He’s comfortable across languages and systems—from C++ and Node.js for storage appliances to Go and Bash for cloud orchestration—and has repeatedly delivered scalable build/test/release pipelines. A pragmatic architect and hands-on engineer, he pairs long-term systems thinking with day-to-day automation work, and often surfaces subtle operational risks early in the design phase. He holds a Computer Science degree from the University of Pittsburgh and brings both startup and enterprise experience to complex, safety- and availability-sensitive systems.
