Rockstar🎓
Top SchoolNicholas Nelson is a software engineering researcher and founder with 11 years of experience blending academic rigor and hands‑on product delivery, currently teaching software engineering and advising GenAI initiatives in Portland. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from Oregon State University and has built developer-focused tools—ranging from a context‑aware source editor and Git visualizations to automated CI/CD and testing infrastructures—using TypeScript, React, Node.js, and modern pipeline tooling. As founder of Nomatic Software LLC he architects and ships full‑stack SaaS solutions for SMBs, directly translating client needs into Airtable‑backed CRMs, APIs, and cloud deployments. His background spans industry research internships at Microsoft to systems support roles in healthcare and enterprise, giving him a rare combination of user‑centered HCI insight and deep operational experience. Colleagues would note his empirical approach to developer tooling: he pairs qualitative studies of developer behavior with practical implementations that reduce friction in merge conflict resolution and CI adoption.
