Summary
👤
SeniorNick Day is an Associate Principal Architect based in Melbourne with 11 years of focused experience in infrastructure, networks, security and automation, and over 20 years in IT engineering and delivery overall. He combines consulting, technical architecture and customer success expertise to translate operational and financial requirements into reliable, secure production systems. Passionate about automation, he treats repetitive processes as opportunities to free engineers for higher-value work and has driven network automation and monitoring solutions across enterprises, ISPs and cloud providers. At Opmantek he led business development and technology delivery for NMIS, an open-source-born network management platform used globally since 1998, and now brings that operational perspective to Red Hat. Known for clear communication and team-building, he blends hands-on infrastructure skills (including Kubernetes and cloud-native patterns) with commercial acumen to reduce business risk and improve service reliability. An engineer at heart, he prefers demonstrating value through measurable reductions in manual toil rather than theoretical designs.
