Rockstar🎓
Top SchoolNick Fortner is a Senior Software Engineer with 10 years building scalable full‑stack systems, currently shaping backend and frontend architecture at Filevine. He specializes in Go and Node.js API design, React-based frontends, and multi-model data platforms (Postgres, MongoDB, Neo4j, Redis, Cassandra), with extensive AWS serverless and microservices experience. Nick has led distributed engineering teams to deliver high‑traffic SaaS products—ranging from marketing analytics and rebate engines to mobile apps—while improving performance through targeted migrations and search/indexing optimizations. An active open-source contributor, he added robust error handling and type checks to Apollo graphql-tools and implemented a pollForever DynamoDB streaming feature for local Lambda development. Based in Los Angeles, he blends hands‑on engineering with pragmatic architecture, often surfacing nonobvious optimizations like relationship‑preserving search reindexing and durable local stream processing for developer workflows.
