Top SchoolNick Rubin is an investor and former founder with 11 years of product and engineering experience building developer-first tools and consumer apps from San Francisco. After founding Sendo, an SMS API tailored to AI companies, and Winno, a curated news app that hit iOS App of the Day twice and ranked #8, he now brings operator sensibility to early-stage investing at First Round Capital. Trained in Stanford’s Symbolic Systems program, he blends product intuition, front-to-back engineering chops, and a user-focused approach to developer experience. His background includes hands-on roles as a tech lead for Stanford’s TreeHacks and early engineering stints at Hipcamp and Harvard’s Berkman Klein Center, underscoring deep roots in community-driven tech. Notably, he has repeatedly turned small, focused teams into products that punch above their weight in discoverability and developer adoption.
