Summary
👤
SeniorNico Heidtke is an engineering manager and staff software engineer based in Darmstadt with 10+ years of experience leading teams to deliver complex distributed systems, databases, cloud infrastructure and performance-critical C++ code. He combines hands-on expertise in modernizing legacy codebases (C++03 to C++20, Windows to Linux/clang), cloud-native tooling (AWS, Terraform) and DevOps automation with people leadership—hiring, mentoring and instilling best practices across architecture, testing and CI/CD. His background spans domains from real-time game engines and computer vision to big data and database systems, giving him a rare fluency across low-level optimizations and large-scale cloud services. Colleagues describe him as an EN(T)J who actively fosters learning cultures and pragmatic engineering standards that improve maintainability and delivery velocity.
