Summary
🤩
RockstarNico Olivares is a Software Quality Engineer based in Jacksonville with six years of professional experience and a diverse background spanning finance, military schooling, and nearly two decades in education. At GovSpend he builds end-to-end automated tests in Playwright, triages customer issues, and partners closely with developers across two scrum teams to ensure reliable releases. His path from naval academy to finance to teaching and finally Fullstack Academy gives him rare discipline, empathy, and communication skills that make him the go-to collaborator on cross-functional teams. He approaches testing as problem-solving for real users, aiming to create delightful, friction-free experiences rather than just polished UIs. Trusted for clear bug reporting and pragmatic QA, he combines analytical rigor with a teacher’s patience to elevate product quality. Outside work he brings a helpful, approachable presence—people naturally seek his advice, which he uses to mentor and improve team workflows.
