Senior🎓
Top SchoolNicolai Erbs is a Holistic AI Engineer with 14 years of experience blending academic rigour and product-focused machine learning, holding a PhD in computer science with a specialization in natural language processing. He has led research and product efforts from doctoral projects to co-founding a startup (Privalino) that applied NLP to protect children online, and later guided AI initiatives at DB Fernverkehr and T-Systems to improve public and rail transport operations. Comfortable spanning the stack, he plans and implements end-to-end AI solutions—identifying use cases, developing and validating models, and integrating them into live infrastructure. As an industry adviser to the GSCL and a former lecturer, he pairs hands-on engineering with mentoring and a knack for translating complex NLP research into practical systems. Outside work he channels curiosity and teamwork into beach volleyball and hackathons, reflecting a restless drive to understand systems down to the last detail.
