Top SchoolNicolas Joseph is a seasoned technology leader and entrepreneur with 12 years of experience building high-performing engineering teams and developer-first products from seed to acquisition. As CTO and Co-Founder at fiveonefour he’s driving MooseJS, an open-source framework rethinking the data and analytics developer experience, following leadership roles at Nike where he led backend efforts for Nike Virtual Studios and enterprise data transformation. He pairs hands-on engineering—spanning full-stack JavaScript, backend services and security—with strategic operational improvements like monorepos, DORA metrics, and developer productivity tooling. Nicolas has a track record of scaling teams globally, navigating multiple pivots and an acquisition, and establishing security programs that passed Fortune 100 audits. Based in Portland, he blends entrepreneurial grit with academic rigor from Cornell and IMT Atlantique, and quietly applies lessons from early roles ranging from graph visualization to manufacturing optimization.
