Top SchoolNicolas Roelandt is a geomatics engineer with over a decade of experience designing spatial analysis workflows, geospatial data processing and GIS development for research labs and public institutions. Based in Bron, France, he currently supports eight laboratories at Université Gustave Eiffel, bringing hands-on expertise in PostgreSQL/PostGIS, Python, R and cartographic web development. An active FLOSS advocate, Nicolas is a charter OSGeo member and contributor to OSGeo-Live, and he organized FOSS4G-fr 2016/2018 and FOSS4G-EU 2017. He authored a practical book on GIS and has applied his DevOps skills to containerizing geocoding services (notably maintaining a 100% working Nominatim Docker image). His background blends military surveying, topographic fieldwork and formal geomatics education, giving him rare depth from field collection to production GIS systems. Known for pragmatic tooling and community stewardship, he helps translate complex spatial problems into reproducible, open workflows.
