Top SchoolNicole Fenton is a senior UX researcher and multidisciplinary designer with two decades of experience shaping service and digital products across government, media, and nonprofits. She blends content strategy, information architecture, and generative research to tackle complex public-sector transformations—from paid leave and unemployment modernization to city permitting—and has a track record of translating policy and stakeholder needs into usable services. A former Apple writer and long-time consultant, she has led teams, mentored designers, and driven award-winning IA work (including a Webby-winning Sesame Workshop redesign). Nicole pairs ethnographic interviews, blueprinting, and rapid prototyping with quantitative testing to make accessible, honest design decisions that scale across platforms. Based in Charlottesville, VA, she frequently bridges product, policy, and vendor ecosystems to deliver practical research that informs procurement and implementation. Colleagues rely on her ability to turn messy cross-agency problems into clear roadmaps and usable prototypes.
