Senior🎓
Top SchoolNiek De Schipper is a research engineer with nine years of experience building data donation infrastructures and applied data science platforms for academic and industry partners across the Netherlands. With a strong foundation in statistics and a PhD background in sparse PCA and convex optimization, he bridges rigorous methodological research with hands-on data engineering using Spark, SQL, Python, R and cloud-native tooling (Docker, Kubernetes, Azure, Terraform). He has delivered production-ready pipelines at Utrecht University, University of Amsterdam and Achmea, and contributes to social data science initiatives such as ODISSEI’s SoDa team. Comfortable across DevOps, programming (including Elixir and a bit of C++), and policy-informed research from a sociology background, he uniquely combines technical depth with social-scientific insight. Outside projects, he’s a Linux and networking enthusiast who maintains an active Scholar profile and GitHub portfolio that reflect both academic publications and practical tooling.
