Senior🎓
Top SchoolNiels Hansen is a GIS and Data Specialist with 11 years of hands-on experience building geographic analysis and spatial data solutions across Danish municipalities and the public sector. Currently at Septima since 2017, he combines deep GIS domain knowledge with practical skills in (Postgre)SQL and Python to turn complex spatial problems into operational workflows. His background includes roles as GIS Coordinator and consultant, giving him fluency in both technical implementation and cross-organizational operations. Trained as a Cand.scient in Geography and Geoinformatics from the University of Copenhagen, he bridges academic rigour with pragmatic, production-focused delivery. Based in Copenhagen, he’s known for making data usable for decision-makers—often via optimized SQL and automation rather than flashy visualization. An understated strength is his longevity in public-sector projects, which has given him rare expertise in scalable, policy-relevant geospatial systems.
