Senior🎓
Top SchoolNiels Nielsen is a senior software engineer and architect based in Copenhagen with 12+ years of professional experience building and modernising large-scale Java and cloud-native systems. He blends hands-on development (Java, Spring, Groovy) with enterprise and DevOps architecture, having led transformations at organisations like Nets, Maersk, and major Danish healthcare and public-sector projects. Equally comfortable coaching teams and rolling up his sleeves, he repeatedly raises engineering standards through automation, CI/CD and pragmatic SDLC improvements. Recent roles focus on integrations, Kubernetes/Openshift and security-conscious platform upgrades, reflecting a steady move from code to platform and operational excellence. He has long experience teaching and mentoring—bringing an educator’s patience to complex technical change—and often surfaces subtle process fixes that boost delivery velocity. Known for being more “hardcore” than he first appears, Niels combines deep technical craft with practical leadership across both consultancy and in-house settings.
