Summary
👤
SeniorNigel Atkinson is a seasoned software engineer with 16 years of experience building Linux-based systems and data-focused applications using C++, C, PHP and Lua. He has progressed from SQR reporting and Maximo integrations to senior full-stack and technical lead roles, most recently serving as Product Architect and now as a Software Engineer in Sydney. Nigel combines low-level systems experience with practical PHP-driven web development, often owning database reporting and data manipulation tasks end-to-end. Colleagues rely on him for pragmatic architecture and for translating operational needs into reliable tooling and services. Raised in New Zealand and now based in Australia, he brings a global, hands-on perspective and a knack for working across legacy and modern stacks. Outside work he’s self-teaching Turkçe and Español and balances engineering with life as a father to a half-Turkish son, which informs his collaborative, patient approach.
