Summary
👤
SeniorNiko Schmuck is an experienced IT consultant and freelancer based in Hamburg with over 20 years in professional software development and 14 years of freelance practice, specializing in designing and implementing highly scalable JVM-based web applications for eCommerce, CMS and data analysis. He blends hands-on engineering in Java and Kotlin (Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate) with system architecture, technical product management and team leadership roles including Scrum Master and Product Owner. Niko is fluent across the full development lifecycle—API design, message-driven systems with Kafka, relational and NoSQL databases (Postgres, MongoDB, MarkLogic), CI/CD and AWS deployments—while favoring pragmatic agile practices (Scrum, Kanban, XP). Known for mediating between product and engineering, he turns complex requirements into clear technical concepts and scalable implementations, and brings a data-visualization sensibility informed by Python and JavaScript tooling. An understated strength is his longevity and breadth: two decades of evolving tech choices and a steady freelance footprint since 2011 that signal adaptability and client-facing delivery.
