Senior🎓
Top SchoolNikolai Sellereite is a Senior Data Scientist based in Oslo with nine years’ experience applying statistics and machine learning to finance, banking, and pricing problems. He currently helps develop the algorithmic core of Wheelhouse’s dynamic pricing product for short-term rentals, after having consulted for them earlier in his career. Prior to Wheelhouse he was a Research Scientist at the Norwegian Computing Center, where he co-authored work on deep learning for mortgage default prediction and maintained an R package improving Shapley-value explanations for ML models. Trained with an MSc in Statistics and qualified as an actuary, he combines rigorous statistical foundations with production-oriented engineering—building APIs and classification systems for real-world decisioning. A detail that stands out: he has blended long-term research rigor with hands-on product delivery by splitting time between research roles and startup collaboration since 2015.
